Cricket betting at ppi — place bets across all formats from T20 to Test
BPL, IPL, T20 World Cup — the tournaments Bangladesh cricket fans follow most are where ppi offers live and pre-match betting. From match winner to top batsman, bet on every market at clear odds.
The three cricket formats and Bangladesh's favourite tournaments
Cricket is a sport where a Test match can last five days, while a T20 is all over within three hours. Each format has its own character, which also shapes how you approach betting.
T20: The fastest format. BPL and IPL are both played in T20. Runs shift every over, so live odds change quickly too.
ODI: In a 50-over match the betting markets are wider — mid-innings scores, powerplay runs, individual milestones — there are options to bet on all of them.
Test: The longest format runs over five days, so beyond the match winner there are separate betting opportunities in each innings.
BPL holds a special appeal for Bangladeshi fans — home players, familiar grounds, familiar team names. Bangladesh cricket fans follow IPL just as closely. And when the ICC T20 World Cup comes around, the whole country turns its attention to the Tigers' performance.
T20 — BPL and IPL
The fastest format, the most action. The situation changes every over.
BPL IPL T20 WCODI — The 50-over contest
Wider markets, more betting options. The ICC World Cup is played in ODI format.
ICC CWC Bilateral SeriesTest — Five days of cricket
Innings-based markets, multiple betting sessions.
Test Championship
Cricket alongside football and other sports
ppi is not limited to cricket. There are betting options across multiple sports including football, tennis and badminton. That said, cricket tends to come first for bettors in Bangladesh — familiar teams, familiar players, and the fact that commentary is easily available in Bengali all make cricket markets easier to follow.
In football, popular markets alongside the match winner include goals over/under, BTTS (will both teams score) and half-time score. Where cricket has toss, partnership and over-by-over run markets, football replaces those with corner kicks, cards and assists.
The key difference is the time frame: a football match is 90 minutes, T20 around three hours, but in a Test match over five days the momentum can swing back and forth many times. The two sports' markets complement each other — many bettors are active on both.

Cricket's popular markets and how to place a bet
ppi offers a range of cricket betting markets. Below are the most familiar markets along with a basic example of each.
Match Winner
The simplest market — which of the two teams will win. Example: Team A vs Team B — if you pick Team B, you win if Team B wins.
Toss Winner
A bet on which team will win the toss. Completely separate from the match result — it comes down purely to the coin.
Top Batsman
Which batsman will score the most runs in a specific innings or across the whole match. Pick your preferred batsman from within the team.
Total Runs Over/Under
Whether the total runs scored up to a certain over, or in the full innings, will be above (over) or below (under) a set number — here you are betting against a number rather than a team.
Top Bowler
Which bowler will take the most wickets in the match. Wickets falling can bring big swings to this bet.
Multi Bet (multiple bets combined)
Combining multiple selections into one bet multiplies the odds, but all selections must be correct. Example: picking three teams across three matches multiplies the odds together — if even one is wrong, the whole bet is lost.
Powerplay Runs
How many runs will be scored in the first six overs (T20) or first ten overs (ODI) — this market is especially popular at the start of a match.
Decimal, fractional and American odds — three ways of writing the same thing
The same odds can be written in three ways. On ppi you can view any format — all three are just different expressions of the same value.
| Format | If Team A wins (example) | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| Decimal | 3.00 | Total return of ৳3 for every ৳1 staked |
| Fractional | 2/1 | ৳2 profit for every ৳1 staked |
| American | +200 | ৳200 profit on a ৳100 stake |
Worked example 1 — Team A (underdog)
Odds on Team A winning: decimal 3.00 = fractional 2/1 = American +200. On a ৳1,000 bet, if Team A wins you get back ৳3,000 in total (৳2,000 profit + your original ৳1,000 stake). If Team A loses, you lose ৳1,000.
Worked example 2 — Team B (favourite)
Odds on Team B winning: decimal 1.25 = fractional 1/4 = American -400 (negative odds show how much you need to stake to make ৳100 profit). On a ৳1,000 bet, if Team B wins you get back ৳1,250 in total (৳250 profit).
Favourite teams generally have lower odds (around 1.25), underdogs higher odds (around 3.00). The higher the odds, the higher the potential return — but also the higher the risk.
Odds that shift with every wicket and over — in-play betting
Live or in-play betting is the most fast-moving part of cricket betting. You can place bets after the match has started, and odds can change after every ball.
Say Team A has lost three wickets for just 15 runs in a T20 — at that moment Team A's odds to win will rise sharply (they become the underdog) because the situation is against them. But if two batsmen then build a big partnership, the odds can level out again.
This constant movement is what makes in-play betting so dynamic. Wickets falling, a drop in run rate, no-balls, wides — every event affects the odds. If 18 runs come in one over, the runs-per-over market shifts entirely.
In ODIs, the run rate after the 30th over becomes a major factor in how the match is likely to end. In Test matches, whether a fifth-day pitch favours batting or bowling is also reflected in the odds.
Before placing a live bet, make sure you have a clear read of the current situation. Rushing into a bet increases the chance of getting it wrong.
Live In-Play Betting
Odds update after every ball. Bet at any point while the match is in progress.
Practical tips for cricket betting
Understand a market properly before betting
Rather than betting on all markets at once, start with simpler ones like match winner or total runs. Once you understand how a market works, move on to others gradually.
Keep the number of selections in a multi bet manageable
The more selections you add to a multi bet, the lower the chance that all of them will be correct. A multi bet with two or three selections is easier to manage.
Set your stake before you bet
Decide how much you will stake on each match beforehand, and try not to go beyond that limit even if you lose. Betting is for entertainment — do not chase losses by increasing your stakes.
Consider pitch and weather conditions
In cricket, the type of pitch and the weather play a big part in how a match unfolds. Swing bowlers benefit more on overcast days; spinners have the advantage on dry pitches.
Follow responsible betting practices
Betting is a form of entertainment. Never bet with borrowed money or money set aside for essential expenses. Read the responsible gaming guidelines.
Know the betting rules
Each market has its own specific rules — what happens if rain stops play, or if a player is injured. Check the terms and conditions before placing a bet.
